(KSL News) -- It may be summer, but the Salt Lake City School District is making sure school children don't go hungry.
The district teamed up with the Utahns Against Hunger to provide free summer lunches. The 2006 program kicked off today at the Kearns Oquirrh Fitness Center.
Program organizers say more than 160 sites have been set up around the state for free lunches.
This year, officials hope to feed more than half a million kids at parks and community centers along the Wasatch Front.
