Lance Bandley ReportingA Salt Lake Radio Shack is closed today, much to the surprise of some employees. Tuesday, two teens tried to rob the store, but details about the failed robbery show that the suspects had a bad plan in place right from the start.

"The manager was actually inside. The store had tinted glass, so he was watching what they were doing, but they didn't know it. So he watched them put on their masks and as they came through the door he grabbed one of the rifles," says Detective Robin Snyder.

Snyder says the teens then couldn't even figure how to open the cash register, so they grabbed a few items and ran. Their get-a-way car was apparently parked right by an undercover police officer.

"The officer followed them for a while and waited for some backup to come," says Snyder.

Police say all three were arrested within minutes of their poor attempt to rob the store.
