(KSL News) -- A Davis County Sheriff's deputy was forced to use his taser on a pit bull.
Deputy Todd Taylor pulled over a car on Sunday in Layton. The driver took off running.
Taylor followed the suspect into the backyard of a home. Deputies say the suspect released a pit bull that was on a leash, and ordered the dog to attack.
Taylor was forced to taser the dog twice.
"The dog immediately let out a yelp and was subdued on the ground. He went into full muscle spasms," says Taylor.
The suspect was arrested.
Authorities say the dog will be fine.
