Ashley Hayes Reporting A woman arrested in Brigham City over the weekend and charged with killing her husband is now back behind bars.
Vickie Marie Ruiz is in jail for the moment. She was arrested Sunday for shooting and killing her husband John Matthew Ruiz. She was taken into custody outside the couple's home in Brigham City.
On the phone with a 9-1-1 operator, Ruiz admitted to killing her husband when she found him in bed with another woman.
Ruiz was released after posting 20-thousand dollars over the weekend. But Monday when she was formally charged with first degree murder the county attorney wanted her bond increased.
A judge granted the request and raised Ruiz's bond from the original 20 to 150-thousand dollars.
Police re-arrested Ruiz Monday afternoon. They say she is back behind bars at the Box Elder County Jail.
So originally Ruiz made bail and was released. Then after a higher bail was set Ruiz was taken back to jail where she is now.
She may not be there for long because another bond hearing is set for later this afternoon.
