UDOT is beginning its final push on the new carpool lane. For the next two weeks and a half weeks, UDOT will be repaving out here and that will mean delays, starting in the early evening.
The good news we have today is that UDOT has pushed up its opening of the carpool lane in Utah County, which was scheduled to be in June. Now UDOT has an expected opening date of Memorial Day weekend.
But before the project is finished, crews will be re-paving I-15, from 800 North in Orem, to the 500 East exit in American Fork. That is a seven mile stretch of freeway in each direction. UDOT hopes to be finished by May 24th, but to do that, only two lanes in each direction will be open, starting at 8pm. And at 11pm, only one lane in each direction will be open. The lane restrictions are in place until 7am.
