Paul Briggs, Passenger in Car: "Apparently, she's got some outstanding warrants, and she didn't want to get caught."

But eventually, Salt Lake City police officers caught her. Bonnie Vigil was handcuffed and arrested.

Lt. Craig Gleason, Salt Lake City Police Dept.: "She appears to be DUI, and I suspect that's the reason she fled."

She's lucky she isn't facing more serious charges, like vehicular homicide.

Zack Dunn, Hit by Car: "I was riding across the street and the car hit me on the side, and then I just fell off."

Zack Dunn was riding his bike across 8th South at 4th East at the same moment Vigil was trying to get away from police.

Zack Dunn: "I was thinking she was gonna stop, but I guess not."

Dunn was knocked off his bike. Fortunately, he was wearing his helmet and suffered just a scraped knee. But when it happened, Briggs thought the worst.

Paul Briggs: "And that's really what I'm concerned about more than anything else."

Worried his friend might hit more people, Briggs reached over and took the keys out of the ignition, stopping the car, allowing police to arrest her.

Paul Briggs: "I couldn't believe what she was doing, and I did everything in my power to try and stop it."

Dunn was checked out by paramedics, but he's going to be just fine. Police say without his helmet, this would've been much worse.
