MOURNING A LEGEND — A highlight-reel weekend in football was stopped Sunday by news of the passing of golf legend Arnold Palmer.

We’ll get to that with several wonderful tributes. But first, one of our favorite moments from the gridiron.

Special teams leads ASU to win over Cal

Arizona State picked off Cal quarterback Davis Webb twice in the final minutes of a 51-41 win over the Golden Bears on Saturday night.

A bit of an anomaly for a quarterback like Webb, sure. But D.J. Calhoun probably deserves as much credit for the win as anyone.

With Cal trying to rally late, Calhoun picked up a Bears onside kick attempt with 48 seconds to play and returned it 42 yards for a touchdown for the final margin.

Happy trails, Mr. Scully

Legendary baseball broadcaster Vin Scully said goodbye to America's pastime, calling his final game in Dodger Stadium this weekend at the age of 88.

Scully, who has already announced he will not call Los Angeles' postseason games, has been the Voice of the Dodgers for 59 seasons and his final game was dramatic. Charlie Culbertson hit a two-out walk-off home run in the 10th inning to clinch the division title for the Dodgers.

Tribute to a legend

One of golf’s greatest legends, Arnold Palmer, passed away Sunday at the age of 87.

The man who brought a country club sport to the masses with style and class won 62 times on the PGA Tour, including seven major championships.

After his passing, the internet was awash with tributes to The King. We’ll leave you with a few of our favorites, starting with former BYU golfer Mike Weir. You can see more tributes under the hashtag #RIPAP on social media.
