TAYLORSVILLE — A family escaped safely when their home caught on fire Monday morning.
Crews received a call about the fire near 5300 South and 1900 West around 5 a.m. Firefighters said a neighbor noticed the fire and woke up the family inside the home.
When firefighters arrived, they said flames were coming from the garage. Crews were checking to see if the fire extended into the rest of the house.
No word yet on what may have caused the fire. Damage is estimated at $50,000.
