TAYLORSVILLE — The body discovered in a Taylorsville home has been identified, and the death has been ruled as a homicide.
Unified police officers discovered the body of a woman at a Taylorsville home Wednesday during a welfare check. Family members reported that the woman had been missing since April 12.
When police went to the home near 3900 W. Blue Meadow Dr., they found the body of an adult woman. The victim was identified as Margaret Steffey, 59.
Following an autopsy, investigators discovered the cause of death was suffocation. However, it is not yet known what was used to kill the victim.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen a suspicious individual in the area since April 12 to call the Unified Police Department at 385-468-9816.
