STOCKHOLM (AP) — Swedish prosecutors have charged five men with murder over a shooting in Sweden's second largest city last year that left two dead and eight wounded. Three others were charged with accessory to murder.

Spokeswoman Ulrika Aberg says Friday's charges put an end to "one of the most extensive investigations" in Goteborg, southwestern Sweden.

On March 18, 2015, two masked gunmen opened fire with automatic weapons in a crowded restaurant as people were watching a Champions League soccer match. Investigators say it was likely connected to gang feuds but there was no clear motive.

The suspects have pleaded innocent, according to the prosecution. None was identified. The trial is set to start May 16.

Larger Swedish cities have been dealing with gang violence, albeit on a smaller scale than the U.S.
