JERUSALEM (AP) — Palestinian health officials say a 16-year-old has died in clashes with Israeli forces in the southern West Bank.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the teen as Omar Jawabreh of the al-Aroub refugee camp north of Hebron. The Israeli military says forces shot Wednesday at a Palestinian who was throwing rocks at Israeli vehicles on road near the refugee camp.

Since mid-September, near-daily Palestinian assaults, mainly stabbings, against Israeli civilians and security personnel across Israel and the West Bank that have killed 27 Israelis. At least 156 Palestinians, 110 of whom Israel says were attackers, were killed by Israeli fire during that time. The rest died in clashes with Israeli security forces.
