TREMONTON, Utah (AP) — Authorities say floodwaters that got into about a dozen homes in the small northwestern Utah city of Tremonton over the weekend began receding Monday.

The Box Elder County Sheriff's Office told The Salt Lake Tribune that water was being pumped out and a section of the town's main street reopened after flooding closed it Sunday night.

Heavy runoff and melting snow led some residents and emergency crews to fill sandbags on Sunday to keep water away from homes.

A small mudslide was also reported just outside of the town Sunday. It stopped before reaching a nearby house and no damage was reported.

The Deseret News reports some homes were without power Sunday because of problems associated with flooding. Rocky Mountain Power did not report any large-scale power outages Monday.
