HELPER, Utah (AP) — One man has died and another suffered minor injuries after an off-highway vehicle crashed in Spanish Fork Canyon.

Utah County Sheriff's officials say the accident happened Friday night off of Emma Park Road, 15 miles north of Helper.

According to authorities, 43-year-old John Christopher Mulder, of Manti, was driving his OHV when he lost control.

The OHV rolled off the road.

An unidentified male passenger was sitting side by side with him.

They were both ejected, according to a sheriff's news release.

Mulder was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other man is expected to recover from his minor injuries.

Deputies believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
