COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio man accused of fatally shooting his young niece and wounding his nephew when he tried to "quiet them" has been indicted on charges including aggravated murder.

Franklin County's prosecutor said Wednesday that a grand jury in Columbus also indicted 59-year-old Milous Keith on charges of murder, attempted murder, felonious assault and having weapons under disability. Court records don't list an attorney for Keith, who is in jail.

Authorities say the Columbus man fatally shot 12-year-old Cheyenne Stewart and severely injured 10-year-old ThiaJuan Green at Keith's mother's house on July 17.

Prosecutor Ron O'Brien says Keith had previous felony convictions and wasn't allowed to possess the gun used to shoot his niece and nephew "when he tried to quiet them down."
