GONZALES, La. (AP) — Police say a former 34-year-old assistant athletic trainer and health teacher at East Ascension High School has been arrested on allegations he had sex with a 17-year-old female student.
Gonzales police said in a statement received by The Advocate (http://bit.ly/1TBUf4R) Louis Carl Aguillard, of Prairieville, faces two counts of prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and a student and one count of malfeasance.
Police made the announcement Wednesday afternoon just hours after Aguillard turned himself in.
Detective Sgt. Steven Nethken said that a teacher reported concerns to a faculty member who shared the concerns with police.
Aguillard is being held in the Ascension Parish Prison near Donaldsonville.
Online jail records do not list an attorney for him.
