PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Authorities say a Philadelphia taxi driver has been shot in the arm during an overnight robbery attempt in his cab.
Police say two men and one woman flagged down the Get A Cab taxi just before 3:30 a.m. Saturday in front of a gas station and asked to be taken to a south Philadelphia address.
Police say when they arrived, the men pointed guns at the 38-year-old driver and demanded money. Both fired one shot, hitting the driver once in the right arm.
Police say the cabbie continued driving until he crashed into several parked cars. He then got out of the vehicle and flagged down a police officer on patrol.
The trio fled. The driver is listed in stable condition at a hospital.
