OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — The University of Nebraska Board of Regents will consider a proposed two-year extension for the university's president.
The Omaha World-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1lVhk8D ) that the board plans to discuss the proposal, which would extend President Hank Bounds' term leading the four-campus university system through June 2020.
The original three-year contract Bounds signed with the university in January calls for a yearly extension review.
Bounds' current contract includes a $480,000 base salary, calls for $20,000 in added private funds and provides 11.5 percent of his base salary in deferred compensation each year. Bounds is also provided with a residence, car and country club membership.
Bounds' compensation wouldn't change with the contract extension, but university spokeswoman Melissa Lee says the board can vote to change Bounds' pay at any time.
