LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say a 20-year-old Australia woman remained hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a restricted roadway just off the Las Vegas Strip.
A hospital spokeswoman said Wednesday that Brooke Baldwin of Newport, Australia, was being treated at University Medical Center in Las Vegas after the accident about 3:45 a.m. Monday on Flamingo Road.
Pedestrian bridges are provided over the busy crossroads, and foot traffic is prohibited on the roadway where police say Baldwin climbed over a block divider less than 30 feet east of Las Vegas Boulevard.
Police say Baldwin was struck by a 2005 Kia Amanti sedan driven by a 64-year-old Las Vegas man who remained at the scene and wasn't believed to have been impaired by drugs or alcohol.
