RENO, Nev. (AP) — An official says rain helped firefighters quell almost 20 small lightning-sparked wildfires overnight in the Reno area.
Truckee Meadows Fire Chief Charles Moore says one stubborn fire required more work than others, but crews and rain doused 17 fires in northwest Nevada.
Earlier reports put the largest fire at about a quarter of an acre in size.
Fire danger is expected to continue Monday as warm temperatures and storms persist in tinder-dry areas.
