BRIGHAM CITY, Utah (AP) — Psychiatric evaluations have been ordered for a man accused of killing his estranged wife in Brigham City.

The Standard-Examiner reports (http://bit.ly/1VMpNZx ) that 20-year-old Spencer Gerlach is accused of killing his ex-wife 19-year-old Keltsie Mansfield Gerlach.

Police say Spencer Gerlach called 911 on April 15 and told the dispatcher he had stabbed his wife. The pair had divorced a month before. Gerlach waited for police and was arrested without incident. The couple's 1-year-old daughter was found in the apartment unharmed.

This is the city's first prosecuted homicide in nine years.
