RENO, Nev. (AP) — A 44-year-old California man has been arrested and is being held in the Washoe County jail without bail as a suspect in the fatal shooting of a man whose body was found last month in a garage in Modesto.

Agents in the U.S. Marshals Service fugitive task force say they took William Eric Smith of Modesto into custody in Sparks on Tuesday.

He's being held on a fugitive warrant but authorities say he's a suspect in the killing of 53-year-old Kenneth Sedra Jr.

Sedra's body was discovered June 16 stored in the Modesto garage. He died from at least one gunshot wound.

Investigators say they haven't established a motive
