Train hits man who slipped on tracks in southwest Idaho

CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — A 61-year-old man hit by a train in southwest Idaho has been taken to a hospital.

Police in Caldwell say the man slipped and fell while crossing railroad tracks and was struck by a train at about 12:15 p.m. Sunday.

Police say he was conscious and breathing afterward next to the railroad tracks.

He was taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

The man's name hasn't been released and his condition isn't known.
