MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — The Vermont Board of Education is seeking public comment as members draft a statewide strategic plan for the next five years.

Last week the board voted to approve a draft strategic plan.

Some of the questions being asked by the board include whether there is a persistent achievement gap between students and what resources are need to close the achievement gap. The board also wants to understand education spending. When measured by costs-per-pupil Vermont is considered "high spending."

The deadline to submit feedback on the plan is Dec. 4.

The board is expected to approve the plan at its next meeting, scheduled for Dec. 16.
