WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. (AP) — A medical examiner's report says a Twin Cities high school student died from hanging.

But the circumstances of Sawyer Moeller's death are still being investigated by White Bear Lake police and the Ramsey County medical examiner.

Moeller was a freshman at White Bear Lake Area High School's North Campus. He died Friday, 11 days after he was injured at school. First responders were called to the school Nov. 10 and found Moeller with what appeared to be a neck injury.

In a statement released by police, Moeller's mother, Kris Nordstrom, said some teenage boys were "goofing around after school" when her son was alone briefly. She says a friend returned to find her son injured, called 911 and began CPR.

Nordstrom says her son's organs have been donated.
