SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — Sparks police are investigating a possible scam involving a door-to-door fortune teller.

Police say a woman knocked on the door of a home on El Rancho Drive and told the resident she was a fortune teller.

She offered to read the victim's palm and persuaded the victim to give her several hundred dollars with a promise she'd return with three times that amount.

Police say the woman hasn't been seen since. She's described as a Hispanic woman between the ages of 25 and 35, about 5-foot-8 and 250 pounds.

Secret Witness is offering a $250 reward for information leading to an arrest and prosecution of the suspect. Anyone with information should call 775-322-4900.
