SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Illinois families wanting to lock in future college tuition payments at today's rates have an extra month to sign up for a state savings program.
The College Illinois! pre-paid savings plan allows parents and grandparents to invest early for their children's future education by freezing future tuition payments.
The accumulated payments can be applied to schools in Illinois as well as those out of state.
The 2014-15 enrollment period has been extended through the end of May after opening one month later than in previous years.
