UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. (AP) — Governors State University has announced a partnership with an Indiana university designed to help underserved colleges and universities will continue through 2018.
The suburban Chicago school works with Indiana University's Center for International Business Education and Research to globalize its curriculum, faculty and students.
Governors State will take more of a leadership role in aiding community colleges in the Chicago area improve engagement with international students and faculty while making curriculums more international.
The funding to continue the program through 2018 comes from grants supplied by the U.S. Department of Education.
Governors State is just one of five schools that partner with the Indiana University business center.
The partnership also provides funding for faculty to attend development seminars overseas and for students to study abroad.
