LAYTON — Newborn identical twins Matthew Criddle, front, and James Criddle, back, rest at the Davis Hospital and Medical Center in Layton on Sunday.
James was born at 11:59 p.m. Saturday, and Matthew was born at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, making him the first baby born in the new year in Utah.
According to hospital officials, both babies, who weren't expected so soon, were delivered by cesarean section.
