WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Purdue offensive lineman Martesse Patterson was arrested Wednesday and charged with a felony count of battery causing serious bodily injury.
According to online court documents, bail was set at $1,000 cash with a $10,000 surety. A no-contact order also was issued.
The sophomore started at left tackle in Purdue's first two games but was held out of last week's game because of "personal issues."
Alex Hilger claims Patterson took property out of his bedroom on Sept. 7. Hilger said when he asked for it back, Patterson punched him in the face. According to a probable cause affidavit , a no-contact order has been issued.
Purdue coach Darrell Hazell issued a statement saying he was aware of the incident and would let the legal process work before making any additional comment.
