ROME, Ga. (AP) — Officials at a college in northwest Georgia are implementing a tobacco ban on campus.
Berry College officials say a ban on employees, students, contractors and guests using tobacco on campus will be implemented Aug. 1.
Officials say smoking is already prohibited in many campus buildings, but the ban also covers e-cigarettes, chewing tobacco and other products and will apply campus wide.
Officials say Berry College will offer students, employees and their spouses help to quit smoking. Berry College officials say the school's smoking cessation program was awarded a $12,000 CVS Health Community Grant to supply nicotine replacement therapy in those who need it.
