CEDAR CITY — A man has been arrested after police say he hit someone with his car and took off.
Officials with the Cedar City Police Department arrested Nicholas Stroman, 22, Friday. He was booked into the Iron County Jail for investigation of leaving the scene of an accident involving bodily injury, a 3rd degree felony.
A man was crossing a construction zone near 1288 S. Main around 10:30 p.m. Thursday when he was hit by an SUV, according to Cedar City Police Sgt. Dave McIntyre.
The SUV did not stop, McIntyre said, and a passer-by spotted the victim in the road and called 911. The injured man was flown to Dixie Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
Police said were able to track Stroman down because of the damage his vehicle sustained in the accident.
Stroman's bail has been set at $2,500.
