SALT LAKE CITY — The death of a woman whose body was found in a hotel was classified as a homicide, police said Friday.
The body of Holly Nicole Carges, 34, was found at the Royal Garden Inn, located at 154 W. 600 South, Thursday morning, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department. Officers arrived to investigate the scene after hotel management reported the discovery of the body.
An autopsy of the woman is expected to be performed Friday morning by the State Medical Examiner, police said.
Close friend Jackie Demars Peterson said Carges worked hard to support her family.
"Everyone loved her and wanted to be near her," she said. "She was the life of every party and made everyone smile. She was an angel."
Detectives are requesting that friends and associates of Carges call the Salt Lake Police Department at 801-799-3000 to share information.
