DUCHESNE COUNTY — A fire in the Uintah Basin has burned more than 30 acres, officials said.
The fire, which is 10 miles south of Fruitland, is not threatening any structures. The area is not accessible by roads, but is considered a "hike in" fire, authorities said.
It is suspected the fire was started by a lightning strike, and the Uintah Basin Interagency Fire Center has asked for 60 firefighters to combat the blaze.
