ROOSEVELT — An FBI task force in southern Nevada has arrested a man suspected of stealing 18 handguns from a Roosevelt sporting goods store.
The Roosevelt Police Department announced Monday's arrest of Raymond Michael Livingston on its Facebook page. The Facebook post did not provide any details about the arrest, and attempts to reach a police department or FBI spokesman late Monday night were unsuccessful.
Authorities believe Livingston burglarized Stewart's Marketplace, 245 W. U.S. 40, on June 23. Store surveillance video shows a masked man running directly to the sporting goods department about 2:30 a.m., shattering the glass out of a gun case and loading 18 handguns into a duffel bag before leaving the store.
Investigators initially had few leads in the case, but caught a break when three of the stolen guns were recovered in the Las Vegas area, Roosevelt Police Lt. Pete Butcher said last month.
"One of the guns was recovered from a traffic stop, and the other two were recovered (during) violent felonies," the lieutenant said at the time, noting that investigators were able to tie all three guns back to Livingston.
Livingston, 34, is charged in Utah's 8th District Court with 18 counts of theft, a second-degree felony, and one count of burglary, a third-degree felony. A $185,000 warrant had been issued for his arrest.
Federal authorities in Nevada booked Livingston on the Utah warrant, according to the website for the Clark County Detention Center. Jail records show he was also booked for investigation of forgery, possession of a gun by a restricted person and possession of forged documents.
