KEARNS — Unified police were investigating a drive-by shooting Monday night that took place at a home near 4860 West and 4985 South.
The shooting happened at about 6:15 p.m., Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said.
As officers were arriving at the scene, Hoyal said they received information that a silver Mustang had fled the neighborhood.
"One of our officers happened to spot the vehicle leaving the area and stopped that car at about 5600 S. Northwest Ave," Hoyal said.
The officer pulled the vehicle over and detained five people inside. They were being interviewed by police Monday, Hoyal said.
The home targeted in the shooting was hit by several bullets, but no one inside was injured.
Hoyal said detectives were still processing the home for evidence late Monday night.
A motive in the shooting hasn't been determined, Hoyal said.
Names of suspects were not released Monday.
