SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz have added more depth to their roster. This time, it's to the front office.

Justin Zanik has returned from a year away with the Milwaukee Bucks to a role with the Utah Jazz, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Friday. Wojnarowski also confirmed that former Indiana Pacers general manager David Morway has found a permanent role within the Jazz's front office.

Zanik had previously been the assistant general manager with the Jazz under Dennis Lindsey, but left Utah to be the presumptive general manager in Milwaukee. The plan, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe and Brian Windhorst, was to have Zanik succeed John Hammond, Milwaukee's previous general manager. But Bucks owner Wes Edens "soured" on Zanik, preventing the ascension. Zanik ran the Bucks' front office situation until Horst was hired this summer.

Before Milwaukee, Zanik was the Jazz's assistant general manager for three seasons. Prior to that, Zanik worked as vice president of ASM Sports, a player agency.

Morway isn't new to the Utah Jazz, in truth, he's been around the team for the last year or so as a consultant. The new official front office spot should clarify his role as one of Lindsey's top lieutenants.

Morway also has experience in the general manager role, leading the Indiana Pacers from 2008-2012. After that, he was the assistant general manager of the Milwaukee Bucks from 2013-2015.

The hires mean the Jazz have four executives on their staff with general manager experience, with former Jazz general manager Kevin O'Connor also serving in an advisory role.
