UTAH LAKE — So this winter managed to get pretty cold at times here in Utah.
I mean, there's cold, crazy cold, bitter cold and stupid cold. There were times Utah hit the latter cold. It was at one of these times that Andrew Smith captured this time-lapse video at Utah Lake of piling ice floe.
Ice floe is a large pack of floating ice, and when it's really cold, it will pile up like it does in this video. It's amazing how something as simple as ice building up can be so mesmerizing. Goes to show how incredible and beautiful nature really is.

Chester — a baby squirrel rescued by a YouTuber’s parents — dives into a bucket of the white stuff and goes nuts. Yes, that is a squirrel pun.I honestly get a chill watching this, not because of how stunning it is, but rather because of how cold it looks. It's these videos and the cold air that make me think warm weather is never coming back. But I know it will, and come October when it's still 90 degrees, for some reason I'll be begging for the cold. It's a vicious cycle.
