HILDALE — Utah Highway Patrol reported one fatality after a head-on collision on state Route 59 near Hildale Thursday afternoon.
A silver Toyota Yaris was traveling westbound when the driver lost control and crashed into a black Ford Escape traveling in the opposite direction. The driver of the Yaris died at the scene and was identified as Nathan Boone, 43, of Washington City, UHP said. He was the only occupant in the vehicle.
The male driver of the Escape was also the only occupant and was taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center by ambulance and did not have life-threatening injuries, UHP said.
UHP is still investigating the crash, but troopers said speed is believed to be a factor. Drugs or alcohol were not considered to be a factor.
