ROY — Keenan Johnson scored the game-winning touchdown during a 14-point fourth quarter, and the Roy High School batted down a last-second Hail Mary attempt to rally past rival Fremont, 27-20 in the KSL Game of the Week on Monday night.

Austin Freeman opened the scoring with a 42-yard run in the first quarter, and the Silver Wolves took a 13-0 lead on the road in the second quarter.

But Roy came back. After trailing 13-7 at halftime, the Royals rattled off three unanswered touchdowns to go up 27-14 on Johnson’s late run.

Fremont quarterback Saxton Morby added a 9-yard run to pull within a score in the final quarter. But after the Silver Wolves got the ball back, Morby’s last-ditch pass attempt was batted down in the end zone and the Royals moved to 2-0 in Region 1 play.
