SALT LAKE CITY — Three stories, all with local ties, are featured in today's From Left Field.

1. Looks like Jabari Parker is playing football now

Milwaukee Bucks forward Jabari Parker is hanging around Provo. First, last week we saw the LDS former BYU recruit playing hoops with members of the BYU football team:

It seems now the football players have gotten to him, convincing him to change sports for the day:

Hey, if you're as athletically talented as Parker, why not try both?

2. Austin Collie writes about his past (and his future) with concussions

Actual BYU receiver Austin Collie had an injury-shortened NFL career, due to concussions and knee injuries that sidelined him for repeated stretches of three seasons. Now that he's walked away from football, he's trying to help others by pursuing a career in medicine.

Monday, Collie authored an article for BleacherReport.com, in which he writes about his misunderstood history with concussions and head trauma, why he retired and what he plans to do next.

Check it out: it's scientists like the Utah-based ones Collie is working with that may change the nature of how concussions are treated in sports forever.

3. Enes Kanter gets the Second Take

Skip Bayless' job is to provide the most fiery hot sports takes, and so it wasn't a surprise when he predicted that the Oklahoma City Thunder wouldn't win a single game against the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals that began Monday.

What was unfortunate for Bayless is that the Thunder immediately won and former Jazzman Enes Kanter wasn't shy about reminding him of his foolishness.

Reminder: Fox Sports just signed Skip Bayless that will pay him $5.5 million. Our world is a strange one. ![](https://beacon.deseretconnect.com/beacon.gif?cid=400145&pid=4)
