ST. GEORGE — A man was arrested after allegedly racing past multiple officers in St. George on a motorcycle over a span of several hours Thursday, police said.

St. George police said they identified the man as being Bradley Roper with the help of the public through a series of posts shared on their Facebook page. Police first encountered the man on his motorcycle at about 5:30 p.m. when he passed an officer at "an extreme rate of speed" while weaving through traffic, according to investigators.

The officer didn't pursue the man due to heavy traffic, but the man allegedly waved at a second officer when they tried to perform a traffic stop. The man reached speeds greater than 100 miles per hour as he sped away, according to the St. George Police Department. The second officer also elected not to pursue the man.

It appeared as though he was watching for them and intentionally passing or pulling out in front of them.

"Through the course of the next two hours, Bradley pulled out in front of other officers," a post on the St. George Police Department's Facebook page reads. "It appeared as though he was watching for them and intentionally passing or pulling out in front of them. In each instance he sped away from the officers at a high rate speed."

During this time, police shared information about Roper on the department Facebook page. A tip led them a motel in the area, where they found the motorcycle the man was riding, according to police. They said they impounded the vehicle and obtained a search warrant for the room in which Roper was staying.

Roper was arrested just before midnight on suspicion of evading police, possession of spice, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and possession of prescription drugs in unlabeled containers, according to St. George Police Department. He was booked into the Washington County Jail.
