MUNCIE, Ind. — An incoming freshman at Ball State University hit a half-court shot during Welcome Week, winning himself a free semester of tuition.
Freshman Lem Turner, of Vernon Hills, Ill., was selected at random from the Worthen Arena crowd during a Welcome Week pep rally, according to Fox 59 in Muncie. Turner drained the half-court shot — no backboard, a clean swish — and was rewarded with a free semester of tuition.
Check out the video to see the incredulous reactions from both Turner and the packed crowd.
