SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The University of Utah says the Dalai Lama will give a speech at the school this October.
The university announced Monday morning that the event at the Huntsman Center will be open to the public and tickets go on sale July 13.
The 80-year-old Tibetan spiritual leader's Oct. 18 speech will focus on compassion and universal responsibility. He'll then take questions afterward.
While he's in town, the Dalai Lama will also deliver the keynote address at the Parliament of the World's Religions meeting at the Salt Palace Convention Center on Oct. 17.
The Dalai Lama last visited the University of Utah in May 2001.
