LOGAN — Utah State University celebrated Autism Awareness Month with a free concert Saturday that was tailored specifically to those with disabilities.

Former Mormon Tabernacle Choir music director Craig Jessop helped put the show together and was thrilled to partner with the Center for Persons with Disabilities and the Autism Council of Utah for this event. Songs were geared toward all ages.

They hoped would the music would resonate with everyone.

"Our theme was about heroes. We opened with the Star Wars fanfare. WE've done family pops concerts and we used a lot of that same repertoire. So we kept it light and familiar," said Jessop, dean of the Caine School of the Arts at USU.

A special guest conductor, named Thomas Jones from Cache County, led the orchestra in "God Bless America."
