DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- Weber State's mascot Waldo is a national champion.
The mascot won the title in the NCA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Competition in Dayton Beach.

Waldo posted a final score of 59.10 in the competition that included character, creativity, crowd interaction, dance, and the use of props. He won the event by nearly two points with Rowdy from Wright State finishing second. Waldo beat mascots from across the country in the finals to capture the title including mascots from Georgia Tech, Missouri, North Carolina State, Wyoming, Utah Valley and Iowa State.
Weber State cheer coach Summer Willis, in a press release from the school, said the Weber mascot was distinguished in every way.
"Waldo was incredible and he really blew everyone away," said Summer Willis, WSU's Spirit Squad advisor. "He really impressed the judges in all aspects of the competition and made a name for himself and Weber State."
