SALT LAKE CITY — Intermountain Healthcare has given about 125 flu shots to hustling holiday travelers since it opened a new clinic inside the airport.
The clinic, in terminal two at the Salt Lake City International Airport, between the C and D concourses, is open Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It provides a $25 flu shot to walk-in clients and no other medical services. Similar clinics are operated at the Chicago O'Hare, Nashville, San Francisco and Los Angeles airports.
"The convenience really is a benefit to travelers coming through here," said Marty Petty, a nurse who manages the Intermountain clinic at the Salt Lake airport. "Whether they live here in Utah or if they are just visiting, it's another way we can help people in our community be healthy."
While the clinic has given more shots than it anticipated upon opening Nov. 12, it has yet to experience long lines or wait times.
