U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colorado — At 4-2 in Mountain West play, Air Force will need a little help to win a division title in the final weeks of the regular season.

But it bested West division frontrunner Nevada to send the other side potentially headed for a tiebreaker scenario to decide its representative in the Mountain West championship.

Shayne Davern’s overtime touchdown allowed the Falcons (8-2, 4-2 MW) to outlast the Wolf Pack (6-4, 3-3 MW), 45-38, at home Saturday night.

Davern finished with 97 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries, and Air Force quarterback Kale Pearson added 109 yards and a touchdown on 16 rushes.

Hasaan Henderson led Nevada with a game-high 74 receiving yards and a touchdown, but the Wolf Pack also lost him to an injury. Cody Fajardo was 24-of-36 for 275 yards, two touchdowns and an interception for Nevada.

The Wolf Pack are now tied for first in the West division at 3-3 with Fresno State and San Diego State, while Hawaii and San Jose State are only one game back at 2-4.
