CENTERVILLE — A six vehicle, two bus accident near Parrish Lane sent two people to the hospital in serious condition, according to Utah Highway Patrol spokesperson Todd Royce.
"The injuries were serious, but not life-threatening," Royce said.
UHP said a passenger car heading southbound on I-15 hit the inside wall and bounced back into traffic, contacting two other vehicles.
Two Weber State University buses were also involved in the accident Thursday night.
The buses were full of Greek Life Members on an annual trip to a Haunted House in Salt Lake City, Weber State University said.
No one on board either bus was injured.
Royce said investigators are unsure what caused the car to hit the wall, but the accident caused miles of backups and over an hour of delays.
As of Thursday night, one lane has reopened but traffic is still moving slowly.
Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.
