OGDEN — Police confirmed two people were found dead in a house, another shot in the hand on Friday night.
Police responded to reports of gunshots fired at 548 N. Eccles Avenue just after 5 p.m., according to Lt. Jake Sube with the Ogden Police Department.
Upon arrival, Sube said police encountered at 22-year-old female with a gunshot wound to the hand.
Police learned at that time that a second female in her early 50s had also been shot, and the alleged shooter was a 50-year-old male, Sube said.
Police closed the area around 500 N. Eccles Avenue while a SWAT team was called out to secure the home, Sube said.
While police did not order evacuations, they asked residents in the area to stay inside their homes while the SWAT team was in the area.
"Once (the SWAT team) secured the home, they were able to determine a male and female were deceased in the home," Sube said.
Sube said the three individuals are related, though the nature of their relationship was unclear Friday night.
The 22-year-old was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Sube said police do not believe a suspect is at large, but the investigation is ongoing. Sube anticipated the investigation could take a while.
Residents were asked to stay inside their homes until SWAT secured the residence. No homes were evacuated.
