SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake police think pedestrians were the target of bullets that hit a home near Riverside Park.

Lt. Craig Gleason of the Salt Lake City Police Department said police received several calls of shots fired near 600 North and 1450 West just after midnight.

A group of people were walking west when someone started shooting at them from a car. Some of the shots hit a home next to the park. But Gleason said it appears that was not intentional.

“Our best guess at this point, it appears the property that was damaged was just the backdrop for the pedestrians,” he said.

No one was injured.

Gleason said investigators don’t have much to work with. They have not found the pedestrians, and the only witness did not see the shooter or shooters.
